Month no.1

JUly 2026

During the first month of construction, the project team has focused on preparing the site for upcoming earthwork activities. Crews have been installing exclusionary fencing and completing the California Tiger Salamander (CTS) environmental clearance under Caltrans’ oversight to protect sensitive wildlife and ensure compliance with the project's environmental commitments required by permitting agencies. Clearing, grubbing, and installation of the stormwater protection controls is just getting started. The team is also processing material procurement submittals.

‍ ‍

While these activities may not be as visible as roadway construction, they are essential steps that must be completed before earthwork and major construction operations can begin. As these early efforts are finalized, the project team looks forward to advancing into the next phase of construction and making visible progress on the improvements in the months ahead.

Nighttime lane closures and temporary paving work are currently scheduled to begin in mid-to-late July. Additional information will be available the week prior. Road closure updates can be found at https://roads.dot.ca.gov/.
