State Route 41 Expressway Project

Our partners

What is the goal of the project?

To improve access, enhance roadway safety, and support the growing transportation needs of the Madera region.

State Route 41 through Madera County is a major thoroughfare to Yosemite National Park, transporting millions of visitors each year. Led by Madera County in coordination with Caltrans and regional partners, the project is anticipated to be completed in 2028 and is expected to reduce congestion, improve travel times, and accommodate future residential and commercial growth along the corridor.

Where are we building?

This project is being constructed along State Route 41 in Madera County as part of a 4.6-mile corridor improvement project extending from Avenue 10½ to Avenue 15. Improvements include widening the highway to four lanes, construction of a new southbound bridge over Avenue 11, intersection expansion and improvements to the traffic signal at Avenue 12, and modifications to the existing intersection at Avenue 15.
